Growing Dreams into Reality for over 50 Years
Since 1986, Poul's Nursery has been dedicated to growing a carefully selected line of only the finest quality larger caliper shade, ornamental, and evergreen trees. In the past 37 years, Poul's Nursery has grown substantially with two locations totaling 165 acres.
Founded by the late Paul Kjeldbjerg, the business was and continues to be family owned and operated. Dan and Alan, Paul's two sons, have dedicated themselves to continuing to provide our customers with outstanding service. Dan, a graduate of Northern Illinois with a Marketing degree, runs the Landscape and Construction division of Poul's Landscaping, established in 1966. Alan, a graduate of Ohio State University where he received his degree in Ornamental Horticulture, oversees the Nursery Operations.
The staff at Poul's Nursery is also committed to learning and improving the nursery and always remembering the core principles that the company was founded upon. We promise healthy, proven hardy, uniform plants, dug or selected from our irrigated hold yard. Prompt attention to availability questions and order confirmations are equally as important. When it comes to the tree ball size, bigger isn’t always better. Twenty-six years of experience have taught us that an oversized ball results in excess freight cost for our customers; an undersized ball reduces transplant success. Poul's Nursery hits the sweet spot for uniformly-shaped, solidly-tied root balls wrapped in our high-grade 10oz burlap and heavy-duty baskets.
